-----------------------

EMPTY BOWLS is a donation program where woodworkers, pottery, and glass workers make bowls which are donated. On Friday, February 16, 2007 at noon (11 am - 1 pm), these bowls will be chosen in Dallas' Meyerson Symphony Hall Lobby and Ft. Worth's Bass Performance Hall Lobby by people making a $25 donation and area restaurants will donate soups (served in plastic bowls), breads, and desserts as part of the Annual Empty Bowls Luncheon. Bowl makers will be noted on a poster at the luncheon.* 2004 Page (including pictures)

*Slight variations between the Tarrant and Dallas operations are noted in the fliers sent out for 2006.
Both note that bowls can be left at Tarrant Area Food Bank, but Tarrant does not list additional locations. Also, Tarrant will prepare a catalog of pieces donated to the silent auction which will also showcase artists.  These bowls must be donated by Feb. 1, 2007, and bowls from $200-500 are noted as getting the most attention.
Both places will have a silent auction and Bump or Special Selection Tables where patrons may pay an additional fee and chose a more expensive bowl.
