These images are used elsewhere on the site for various purposes, but here they are collected for making a record of some of the glass sold in a large hardware store in 2001-2002. In fact, this represents a tiny portion of the glass sold, because the many shelves of glasses, goblets, candle holders, etc. are omitted. Most of this glass is larger pieces from Chinese or Mexican factories. I took the pictures you see here.

While these look good at a distance, pieces are broken off, like the tails of the tadpoles.

The top edge is ground, so the piece is mold blown, perhaps with the premade foot and stem in the mold or they may be attached after, the piece is either annealed on the pipe or crudely taken off without being puntied, and after annealing the top is sawn and/or ground. The tops of these pieces are also ground flat. Elliott's Hardware glass for sale
This is effectively a gazing ball on a small scale.  It was made in Bohemia Czechoslovakia and is sold in the store for $10.99.  The tip is solid brass, the shaft rigid copper pipe with an enlarging fitting at the top.  It appears to have been glued together and I assume there is a neck inside the fitting.  The blue color is bands of powder spiraled on the core which is punched down in the center with a single bubble. These come in several colors including yellow and red.  2004-11-04 Gazing shape on copper tube from Bohemia $10.99
